My favorite track is "Unforgettable Sorrow/Endless Sorrow". I love listening to the FF9 playlist with Rainy Mood going in the background. TPR: A talented pianist who has a whole album/playlist called "Memoria: A Melancholy Tribute to Final Fantasy IX", as well as other video game soundtracks. My favorites are "You're Not Alone" and "Secret Library Daguerreo". She's also done art and animation for some of her videos. katethegreat19 (Erutan): A super talented Celtic/medieval-inspired musician who plays every instrument in her covers, sings, and writes lyrics."Ukulele de Chocobo" - I made up lyrics to this version.Īnd some of my favorite remixes/remixers for FF9 music:.I remember someone in the YouTube comments saying they wanted to walk down the aisle to it. "Broken Spell, Healed Hearts" - Another "one-time only" song after Cid and Hilda reunite."The Place I'll Return to Someday" and its variations - My personal favorite version of this theme is in Oeilvert, but the main title theme gives me nostalgia chills every time.Kuja's themes, particularly "Kuja Leaves Burmecia" and "Immortal Melody".

Beatrix's themes - "The Wavering Blade" (battle), "Rose of May", and "Protecting My Devotion/Something To Protect" aka character development in song form.I love the use of leitmotif (aka recurrent themes that are associated with a character, idea or situation) in this game. Perfect composition considering what transpires when you're done in Cleyra.ĭefinitely my favorite video game soundtrack of all time. Like the song is trying to give you a false sense of security. It sounds relaxed and cute, but something about the drawn out background instruments instills this foreboding sense of dread that gnaws at me while I listen to it. It's the only time Freya's theme has been remixed in any game.įor a more understated theme that I don't see a lot of praise for, I love the Cleyra Settlement theme. Unforgettable Face also has an arrangement in Chocobo's Dungeon for the PS1, despite no other reference to Freya being present. I don't think we'll ever hear a song like it again in FF, like how there'll never be another character quite like Freya. The main version is really unique though, it's like, melancholy medieval house music. All three versions of Freya's theme (Freya's Theme, Kingdom of Burmecia, and Unforgettable Face) are my favourite melody but I also love anything Freya so it's no contest.
